We are pleased to announce the next AI4Science workshop on February 9th, 2023, on “AI for accelerating and enhancing scientific simulations.” We invite the Caltech community, prospective graduate students and the wider local community to join us. Lectures will be hybrid with a combination of in-person and zoom options.

AI has the potential to revolutionize scientific domains by significantly improving the speed of scientific simulations as well as by removing modeling errors. This workshop covers both the theoretical foundations of such data-driven approaches as well as application-gains being realized by AI methods. We will start with a morning session on AI frameworks such as Gaussian processes, data assimilation and neural operators will be covered. The afternoon session will feature a wide range of application domains such as fluid dynamics, material plasticity, climate modeling, seismology, and chemical reactions. In addition, we invite the participants to interact with student poster presentations during the lunch break.
